Атлантическият съвет на България изпрати отворено писмо до Марк Зукърбърг, в което заявяват, че се борят за освобождаването на Фейсбук от пропурското модериране на съдържанието на текстове на български език. По този начин те искат да защитят българите от произвола на руските модератори.
В писмото си атлантиците подчертават, че тези своеволия особено отчетливо се виждат към критични постове за режима на Путин и войната в Украйна. Много акаунти, в които се съдържат критични текстове срещу Кремъл и руската агресия са подложени на постоянни рестрикции, за разлика от проруски постове и фейк новини, които по никакъв начин не се санкционират от Фейсбук.
„Фейсбук в България, за голямо съжаление, сега служи като перфектен пример за това, как един изключителен американски продукт може да бъде завладян от Кремъл на местно ниво, използвайки сравнително трудния контрол върху процеса на модериране на различни езици“, пишат в писмото си атлантиците.

OPEN LETTER TO MARK ZUCKERBERG
Dear Mr. Zuckerberg,
We are writing you with the hope that you can help Bulgaria to have reliable, impartial and objective Facebook content moderation in Bulgarian.
As you have probably heard of, there is a growing number of cases proving that the Facebook content moderation in Bulgaria is pro-Russia biased and so it takes unjustified restrictive actions against people that are criticizing Vladimir Putin and the Russian war against Ukraine. More and more users in our country everyday get convinced they the content moderation in Bulgaria now definitely has a pro-Russian bias in a ever growing number of cases. Many accounts of Bulgarians that are criticizing the Kremlin and the Russian aggression against Ukraine have been suffering unjustified restrictions, especially after the start of the war, whereas pro-Russian propaganda and fakes in fact go unhindered on Facebook in Bulgaria.
Our country has been under intensified Russian hybrid attacks since the beginning of the Russian aggression against Ukraine on 24th February. Facebook is the most popular social media in Bulgaria. Today online remains the leading news source in our country as TV and print’s decline continues.
Therefore, having pro-Russian content moderators (subcontractors) in Bulgaria is key to the Russian hybrid strategy aimed at manipulating public opinion.
In this context, let us inform you that our Facebook page.
is a priority target of hostile reporting and as a result the Bulgarian language moderators have thus far imposed on us various unfair restrictions, abusing the interpretation of "hate speech". As a result, our page now has seriously reduced distribution and various restrictions. We are ready to provide concrete examples, if required.
Facebook in Bulgaria, quite unfortunately, now serves as a perfect example of how a brilliant American product could be captured by Kremlin at the local level, using the relatively hard to control process of moderation in different languages.
We hope that you could help us to have our case reviewed and the content moderation of our Facebook page checked by independent moderators.
